The Parliamentary Standing Committee looking into the Lokpal Bill is in the conclusive stage of finalizing its report. It is likely to submit its recommendations by the end of this month. This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee Abhishek Manu Singhvi while talking to reporters ahead of the panel's another round of meeting in New Delhi today. Mr. Singhvi said that elaborate discussions have been held with various stakeholders. He said that deliberations are moving in a positive direction. He expressed hope that the committee will reach a consensus on various pending issues.Yesterday,Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the government will introduce the Lokpal bill in the winter session of Parliament. He reiterated the Centre's commitment to put in place a strong and effective Lokpal bill to deal with the menace of corruption.
