The three member panel of interlocutors on Kashmir today visited the Central Jail in Srinagar and met some youth there. These youth have been arrested in connection with stone-pelting in the valley recently. After arriving in Srinagar yesterday, the panel members visited the jail and talked to d’tentes for more than two hours. The leader of the panel and noted journalist Dilip Padgaonkar made it clear that the panel will talk to everyone including militants. The panel members also met some senior journalists and a delegation of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha. Earlier, Mr. Padgaonkar said in Srinagar that the people in Kashmir are yierning for a candid talk. He added Kashmir problem is political in nature and a dialogue with Pakistan is necessary as the talk with people of Jammu and Kashmir to resolve the issue, which is a bilateral issue.BJP today criticized head of the panel Dileep Padgaonkar for his comment that J-K problem could not be solved without involving Pakistan. The party demanded that the PMO should explain whether Padgaonkar is authorised to make such a statement.
