Panel formed to look into Jaypee homebuyers issue: Paswan

Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said his ministry has so far received 400 complaints from aggrieved home-buyers of Jaypee Infratech through the National Consumer Helpline. The company has been facing protests and litigation from homebuyers due to huge delays in completion of projects in Noida.<br/><br/>Talking to media in New Delhi, Mr Pawan said, to protect the interest of consumer an in-house panel headed by consumer affairs secretary has been set up to look into the matter. The committee will submit a status report within three days. These complaints have been forwarded to concerned departments and ministries for redressal. <br/><br/>The Minister said currently, there are 60 National Consumer Helpline centres in the country. He said six regional consumer helpline centres will be operational from October 10 this year. Each region would have ten helpline centres. He said the state-operated consumer helpline centres are about 24, which are being updated with new software and integrated with the national centres.
