Panchayat polls comes to an end in Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, polling for the third and final phase of panchayat elections ended this evening. Our Bhopal correspondent reports that one person was killed and several others injured in different parts of the state in poll related violence.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent Shaqir Noor reports from Bhopal that About 78 percent polling has been reported in over six thousand six hundred village panchayats of 101 blocs. Large queues of voters were seen in almost all the rural areas. Barring isolated incidents of violence in Bhind, Morena, Jhabua and some other districts, polling remained by and large peaceful. One woman was killed in firing in Bhind district. In some places polling was postponed due to errors in ballot papers.
