In Jammu and Kashmir, the Panchayat elections are being held in three blocks of Leh district today. AIR correspondent reports that polling is being held for 17 Sarpanches and 5 Panches. 16 Sarpanches and 207 Panches have already been elected unopposed. 43 candidates are in fray for 17 Sarpanches and 10 candidates for 5 Panches. The Panchayat election in Leh district is being held in three phases. For the smooth conduct of election, the election authorities have established 117 Polling stations in the three blocks of the Leh district.
