Thousands of Palestinians welcomed President Mahmoud Abbas home as he arrived in his headquarter in the city of Ramallah, in the West Bank, after submitting the Palestinian application for full United Nations (UN) membership of a Palestinian state to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.Palestinian news agency WAFA reports that President Mahmoud Abbas addressed the cheering Palestinian crowd asking them to raise their heads as Palestinian Spring has been born. He assured the Palestinians that the free world received the Palestinian quest with respect and appreciation that carries their struggle, history and hopes. Mahmoud Abbas stressed that Palestinians want to achieve their goals through non-violence movements, through negotiations, which will only be accepted with a complete halt of the Israeli settlement activities.
