Palestinians-Israel talks reach a dead end

The talks between the Palestinians and Israel have reached a dead end after US which was mediating the talks admitted that it has failed to pursue Israel on the issue of continuation of settlement freeze in West Bank. A close aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Yasser Abed Rabbo has said the decision is a declaration of the failure of US efforts.Palestinian side has reacted after US State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told that after a considerable effort, US has concluded that US guarantee to pursue Israel for temporary settlement freeze does not create a firm basis to work towards the goal of a framework agreement.He however promised to continued efforts to try and unblock the Middle East peace process and said Israeli and Palestinian negotiators would visit Washington next week to work towards that end. A senior Israeli official has told Israeli media Haaretz that both sides will now try to find new ways to advance the Middle East peace process.
