Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat has said that Palestinian leadership has stressed its position to US Middle East envoy George Mitchell on Tuesday which includes establishment of a Palestinian state on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem. According to Palestinian official news agency WAFA, he was speaking at a joint press conference with US Middle East envoy after the meeting of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and George Mitchell in Ramallahon Tuesday. Erekat held Israeli government fully responsible for the derailment of peace process saying it has chosen settlement over peace. Speaking on the occasion George Mitchell expressed the commitment of the U.S. administration's vision towards the peace process, which will begin to end the conflict. He added that completion of a peace agreement will ensure security and dignity and welfare of the Palestinian and Israeli peoples. Earlier during his meeting with US envoy, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told that he is prepared to discuss all of the essential issues necessary for resuming negotiations with the Palestinians and reaching a peace agreement.
