Palestine condemns Israel for building houses in East Jerusalem

The Palestinian Authority has condemned Israel's move to build more housing units for settlers in the occupied East Jerusalem. The Palestinian President’s spokesperson Nabil Abu Rdeina in a statement today said that any new Israeli bids on Palestinian lands are illegal and illegitimate.Responding to Israel’s invitation to contractors to bid on the construction of 198 housing units, Abu Rdeina said that the Israeli Government proves, each day, that it is not ready for peace, taking advantage of the international inability. He added that Palestinian stance is clear, no getting back to negotiations without a comprehensive halt of settlement activities in lands occupied in 1967. According to Haaretz Israeli daily, Israel is planning to build new apartments in East Jerusalem.
