Union Minister of State for Water Resources, Vincent Pala today termed Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore as a multi faceted personality with clear vision and ideas. Addressing the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Guru Dev Rabindranath Tagore in Shillong, Mr. Pala said, Rabindranath Tagore who was a luminary in the literary world left indelible impression on the mind of all those whom he came in contact and read his literary works. Pala said, as part of the Commemoration of Tagore’s 150th Birth Anniversary, it has been decided to revamp the Multi Purpose Cultural Committee Scheme and replace it with an improved one to be known as the Scheme for Tagore Cultural Complexes.Earlier, Mr. Pala unveiled the statue of Rabindranath Tagore erected in front of the Brookside Cottage in Ribong. Speaking on the occasion, Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister, Bindo M. Lanong described Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore as a very humble personality. Lanong urged the people to emulate the ideals and thoughts of Tagore, as they would immensely benefit from them.
