Pakistani troops violate ceasefire, kills Army officer in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, an Army officer was killed when Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC), firing on Indian positions in Mandi area of Poonch sector. The heavy firing continued for two hours on Friday killing a Junior Commissioned Army officer.

Quoting Defence sources our Correspondent reports that , the Indian Army exercised restraint and did not retaliate. The Army has launched a massive search operation in the area to ensure that no infiltrator has sneaked into this side under the cover of Pakistani troops’ firing.

This is for the fourth time in last two weeks that Pakistani forces have violated the ceasefire along the LoC.
