In yet another incident of cease-fire violation, Pakistani troops resorted to indiscriminate firing on forward Indian posts in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir last night.Official sources said, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing in which one army jawan was killed. Sources said, unprovoked firing could be aimed at escalating tension along the border ahead of US President Barak Obama's visit to India. Sources said, possibility of an infiltration bid by militants under the cover of firing cannot be ruled out.According to official sources Indian posts of Kirpan, Kranti and Kirpan-II were targeted by Pakistan Army in the firing from their forward posts of Chuha and Daaku. Firing by Pakistan Army was clearly aimed at provoking the Indian side to retaliate to escalate tensions on the LoC ahead of the US President’s visit to India from November 7.Indian side was already aware of Pakistani plot to create tension at the LoC as well as International Border before and during Obama’s visit. As a number of militants were held up at the LoC on Pakistan side awaiting an opportunity to infiltrate, security agencies didn’t rule out an attempt by the ultras to intrude into this side under covering fire from across. However, according to Defence sources movement of the militants was not observed and intrusion bid, if any, made from across the LoC has been thwarted. Army and BSF were maintaining a high alert along LoC and IB in entire Jammu sector anticipating infiltration attempts by the militants as well as cease-fire violations by Pakistan Army on the eve of Obama’s visit.
