Pakistani troops again violate ceasefire along LoC; Target four different sectors of J&K

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops have opened unprovoked firing on several forward posts in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting the Indian Army to retaliate. A defence spokesman told AIR that Pakistani troops have been resorting to unprovoked small arms firing in forward posts along the Line of Control at Krishnagati and Mandi sectors of Poonch district, Balakote sector of Rajouri district and Pallanwala sector of Jammu district since 2130 hours Sunday night. <br/><br/>The spokesperson said, Army troops guarding the LoC took positions and retaliated effectively resulting in exchange of firing lasted till midnight. He said, there has been no loss of life in the Pakistani firing. Earlier on Saturday night, Pakistani rangers had resorted to firing of mortar bombs on border out-posts along the International Border in R S Pura sector of Jammu district. AIR correspondent reports that there have been 18 ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pak border in July in which four persons, including three jawans, were killed and 14 others injured.
