Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (CAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani arrived in Sri Lanka Wednesday evening on a three-day goodwill visit.This is the first visit of Pakistan’s Army Chief to Sri Lanka following the defeat of LTTE in 2009. Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari had ealier visited the isklnd nation in Novemeber 2010.General Kayani, accompanied by Mrs Begum Zahida Kayani and a few senior officers, is expected to meet the top leadership of the country including the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Defence Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff and the three Services Commanders.During the course of his visit , General Kayani is also scheduled to address the undergraduates at Defence Services Command and Staff College at Sapugaskanda.Pakistan and Sri Lanka have comprehensive and mutually beneficial training collaboration for Army, Navy and Air Force.
