Pakistan today recorded their highest successful run chase in Test Cricket as they defeated hosts Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in the third and final Test at Pallekele to win the series, 2-1. Needing 376 for victory, the visitors resumed the final day of the match at the overnight score of 230 for 2, with Shan Masood on 114, and Younis Khan on 101. After Masood fell for 125, Younis Khan led from the front and scored an unbeaten 171 helping Pakistan record the second highest successful run-chase in Asia.
