Pakistan: Will support India in fight against terror

Pakistan has said that it will support India in its fight against terrorism. Pakistan Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani on Tuesday arrived in New Delhi , saying he has been given the mandate to carry forward the dialogue process with India during the two day talks with his Indian counterpart Ranjan Mathai.

Jilani stressed that he has been given the mandate by the Pakistan government to push forward the dialogue process with India which was revived only in February last year after a long hiatus following the Mumbai terror strike.

Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai and Jilani will begin two-day talks tomorrow that will focus on issues like peace and security, including confidence-building measures, Jammu and Kashmir, and the promotion of friendly exchanges.

AIR correspondent reports, the agenda of the foreign-secretary talks had been fixed well in advance, but in the wake of the disclosures made by Abu Jindal, a key 26/11 Mumbai terror attack plotter with links to Pakistani militants, terrorism could become the main focus of the talks.
