Pakistan wants to take the peace process forward with India: Rehman Malik

Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday said that action will be initiated against Jamat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, once concrete evidence is given to Pakistan. He arrived in New Delhi on a three day official visit on Friday evening. His arrival was delayed by 4 hours due to some changes in his flight schedule.

Talking to reporters on his arrival, Rehman Malik said, Pakistan wants to take forward peace process with India. He expressed condolences for the families of the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attacks. Malik also said that non-state actors have been playing havoc with relations between the two neighbours.

Before leaving Islamabad, Malik today said, he would reiterate his government's invitation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to visit Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari had already invited Singh to visit Pakistan. His agenda includes operationalisation of liberalised visa regime between the two countries.

Ahead of Malik's visit, India asked Pakistan to fast track the ongoing trial of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attacks and expedite the extradition of the Jamaat Ud Dawa Chief and the mastermind of the attack, Hafiz Mohammad Saeed.

Speaking to Media, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said that there is very little movement on fixing the accountability on main actors behind Mumbai attacks, by Pakistan.
