Mr. Crowley further said that they have called for his immediate release. According to a statement issued by the US Embassy in Islamabad, the diplomat detained in Lahore is a member of the US Embassy's technical and administrative staff, and therefore he is entitled to full criminal immunity and cannot be lawfully arrested or detained in accordance with the convention.Meanwhile, a Pakistani court today barred the government from handing over the detained person to the US.
