Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Poonch district

In Jammu and Kashmir, in yet another incident of ceasefire violation, along the Line of Control, Pakistan forces resorted to heavy shelling and firing on forward Indian posts in Poonch district this morning.According to Defence sources, the forces from across the Line of Control started unprovoked firing and shelling in Shahpur sector around 11 am this morning. <br/><br/>The troops guarding the borderline also retaliated the shelling effectively and heavy exchange of fire was going on when last reports came in. No injury to anyone or casualty has been reported from the Indian side so far. <br/><br/>Last night also Pakistan forces shelled and fired in Pallanwalan area of Akhnoor sector along the Line of Control in Jammu district. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, in the wake of firing and escalated tension along the border, some people from areas lying very close to LoC and International Border have started shifting to safer places. <br/>Administration has been providing accommodation to these people in camps.

According to defence sources, the forces from across the line of control resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian posts in Shahpur sector this morning. The firing was retaliated by the troops guarding the border lines. Heavy exchange of firing was going on when reports last came in. There is no report of casualty from the Indian side so far. <br/><br/>Earlier, Pakistan fired on forward LoC posts and villages in Pallanwalla area of Akhnoor sector last evening. Defence sources said, firing and shelling by Pakistan Army started at 7.15 last evening. Troops guarding the border line retaliated effectively. Firing was also extended to civilian areas later.
