New Delhi says, it is a widely accepted fact that Pakistan trained militant groups to fight against India in Kashmir. A spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry while reacting to the statement made by the former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf said that his statement only confirms the veracity of what India has been repeatedly saying over the years. He said this is the reason why India sought a firm and abiding commitment from Pakistan that it will not allow its territory and the territory under its control for aiding and abetting terroist activity directed against India. General Musharraf in an interview to a German magazine had admitted that Pakistan trained militant groups to fight in Kashmir.Meanwhile the, BJP on Wednesday asked the government to factor the admission of former President of the Pakistan Pervez Musharraf about his country's involvement in cross-border terrorism while framing its policy towards the neighbour. Briefing reporters in New Delhi the Party Spokesman Prakash Javadekar said that Musharraf's confession is vindication of India's position and consistent with BJP stand that terrorism in the country is basically a cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan. He said that government must utilise these revelations to expose Pakistan and its dubious role in waging a covert war through state-sponsored terrorism directed against India.
