Media reports have indicated that Pakistan Police have launched a fresh offensive against banned militant outfits in Punjab province. Police have arrested several militants in various parts of Punjab. They have been put under house arrest for 15 days to three months on charges of disturbing peace. Hundreds of such militants have gone underground to escape arrest. Most of the arrested cadres belong to Sipah-e-Sahaba organization. Its chief Ahmed Ludhianavi said, over hundred of their activists have been nabbed and he has protested against the Pak government's step.It is believed that the offensive was launched after the talks between Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani and Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
