In Pakistan, paramilitary troops have taken control of parts of Karachi, where over a hundred people have been shot dead earlier this week. Gunfire continued to rattle the port city with seven more people killed in different areas of the city taking the death toll to around 108. Police said 250 people have been injured.Government has already issued shoot at sight order anyone involved in violence. Paramilitary troops are patrolling the western neighborhoods of Karachi for the first time after the violence started on Tuesday. Ambulances and armoured vehicles are evacuating families inside their homes for days without food and water.The surge in violence in Pakistan's economic capital is widely blamed on armed gangs linked to rival political and ethnic groups. Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik, however, blamed Taliban for the wave of violence in Karachi.Citing intelligence reports, Malik said that the Taliban was at least partially responsible for the violence. He claimed that the Taliban has evacuated some places during the security forces' operation against them. But, he said, police and law enforcement agencies are pursuing them. Malik said police and rangers have cleared the Kati Pahari hills in Orangi town, the epicenter of the violence, from where armed men indiscriminately fired and launched rockets on residential areas in Qasba colony.
