Pakistan has played double game with US for years: Nikki Haley

The US has accused Pakistan of playing a double game on fighting terrorism and asked it to take decisive action against terrorists operating from its soil to earn the American aid. <br/><br/>The tough message from Washington came following US President Donald Trump's tweet on New Year's day that said America had been rewarded with nothing but lies and deceit by Pakistan in return for its over 33 billion dollar aid in the last 15 years.<br/><br/>Talking to reporters at the United Nations headquarters in New York, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said, Islamabad works with Washington at times, but they also harbour the terrorists that attack US troops in Afghanistan. She said, Mr Trump is willing to go to great lengths to stop all funding for Pakistan as it continues to harbour and support terrorism. Ms Haley said, the Trump administration expects far more co-operation from Pakistan in the fight against the menace.<br/><br/>In her daily news conference in Washington, US State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert described Pakistan as an important partner and said Islamabad must do more to combat terrorism. <br/><br/>She said, the decision to withhold the aid was taken in August and Pakistan would need to earn such assistance through sincere action.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley says Pakistan has played a 'double game' with the United States for years and it is unacceptable to the Trump administration. She came out in support of President Donald Trump's decision to block 255 million dollar military aid to Pakistan. <br/><br/>Ms Haley told reporters at her first news conference of the year at the UN headquarters in New York yesterday that Pakistanis work with Washington at times, and they also harbour the terrorists that attack US troops in Afghanistan.<br/>
