Pakistan's Election Commission today released the full results of the general elections, giving the preliminary position of all political parties in the national and provincial assemblies. The independents have won 93 seats in the National Assembly of 266 directly elected members, surpassing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) 75 seats and Pakistan People's Party 54 seats. Independent candidates, mostly affiliated with Khan's PTI, have secured the most parliamentary seats, reducing the chances of the army-backed PML-N from securing a ruling majority.
