In yet another incident of ceasefire violation along the Line of Control, LoC, Pakistan forces on Friday resorted to heavy firing and shelling in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The forces from across the LoC targeted Indian forward posts as well as some civilian areas in Sabjian sector using small arms and mortars. According to Defence sources, the Pakistan forces resorted to unprovoked firing around 2 PM which lasted for two and half an hour.
The sources said the Indian troops retaliated effectively to silence the Pakistani guns. AIR correspondent reports that one girl was killed and four other civilians were injured in the firing.
The correspondent adds that firing in civilian areas has created fresh wave of panic among the villagers living along the Line of Control (LoC). After a lull of several days the Pakistan forces had resorted to firing and shelling in the area on Wednesday night.
