Pakistan: Civil Aviation Authority suggests engine of crashed PIA flight malfunctioned

In Pakistan, an initial inquiry by the Civil Aviation Authority suggests that one of the engines of the crashed PIA flight malfunctioned midair and exploded, leading to the accident that killed all 47 on board on Wednesday. <br/><br/>Civil Aviation Authority said while flying smoothly at 13,375 feet, the left engine of the plane malfunctioned, exploded and damaged a wing. So far PIA has not released any report on the cause of the crash. <br/><br/>Earlier, it had said the real cause of the accident would only be determined once the data from the black box had been analysed. The plane had descended in an unsymmetrical manner after which it lost altitude in the few moments before it crashed.
