Six years after an attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, cricket returned to Pakistan last evening, with the hosts winning the first T-20 against Zimbabwe by 5 wickets. Opting to bat at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Zimbabwe posted 172 for 6 riding on skipper Elton Chigumbura's 35-ball 54.In reply, Shahid Afridi-led Pakistan surpassed the target with 3 balls to spare courtesy a heroic innings from opener Mukhtar Ahmed who made a return to international cricket. He made 83 off just 45 balls comprising 12 fours and 3 sixes. His fellow opener Ahmed Shehzad also made a valuable 55. Mukhtar was named player of the match.The second and final T-20 will be played tomorrow at the same venue. The 3-match ODI series will begin from Tuesday.
