Pakistan Army concerned about US Aid bill

Pakistan has expressed concern over conditions linked to the $7.5 billion US aid to it. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met the US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke in Washington and conveyed his country's concerns.<br/>Mr Qureshi said he is in the US capital to give the perspective of Pakistan and its Parliament over the Kerry-Lugar Bill to US authorities. Asked about his talks with Holbrooke, he said, frank and open discussions were held with the Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan on the issue.<br/>During his stay, Mr Qureshi will also meet National Security Adviser James Jones, Senator John Kerry, the co-architect of the Bill that will provide $1.5 billion annually for the next five years, and Horward Berman, Chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee.<br/>His unscheduled visit came in the wake of Pakistan's military commanders expressing concern over clauses in the aid bill that they said could affect national security. Mr Kerry said he would work to address concerns raised by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
