Pakistan-American terrorist Faisal sentenced to life for plotting Time Square bombing

A Pakistani American who tried to set up a bomb in Times Square in New York has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The man, Faisal Shahzad, told the Court he was defending Islam.Faisal Shahzad tried to set up a time bomb in the packed Times Square in May this year which, however, did not detonate. Two days later, he was dramatically arrested at the airport while trying to flee the country.Shahzad admitted receiving training and money from the Pakistani Taliban to build the bomb. He said, he wanted to attack the US because of the American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
