Pakistan: Ahmadi community member stabbed to death in Rabwah on allegedly refusing to chant Islamist slogans

In Pakistan, a member of the minority Ahmadi community was stabbed to death in the eastern town of Rabwah on Friday allegedly refusing to chant Islamist slogans. Local media reported that the accused asked him to raise slogans of an Islamist party and on refusal, he stabbed the man and killed him on spot. The deceased was standing at a bus stop for his usual Friday ritual.
''
''Members of the long-persecuted Ahmadi community are facing discrimination and violence in Pakistan over accusations their faith insults Islam. Pakistan's Parliament in 1974 declared the Ahmadi community as non-Muslims. A decade later, they were banned from calling themselves Muslims. They are also banned from preaching and from traveling to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage.
''
''
