Pakistan again violates ceasefire by targeting forward Indian posts

Pakistan has again violated ceasefire by targeting forward Indian posts along the Line of Control,LoC, in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said, Pakistan Army from Abbas Post resorted to unprovoked firing and targeted Dabbi Post in the Indian side at 5 last evening in Balakote Sector in Mendhar tehsil.

The exchange of fire lasted till 5:30 PM. Pakistan used medium arms including mortar shells, while Indian troops also retaliated with similar calibre weapons. No damage to any property or casualty to the Indian side has been reported.

In another ceasefire violation Pakistan targeting forward Indian posts along the Line of Control in Jammu district. Defence sources told AIR that Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing on the Indian posts in Palaanwala Sector in Akhnoor tehsil around 2300 hours Friday night which triggered exchanges of fire with equal calibre arms from the Indian forces. The exchange of fire lasted for a few minutes only. No damage to any property or casualty from the Indian side has been reported till the last reports came in.

Meanwhile, General Officer in Commanding 16 Corps Lt Gen K H Singh today said that around 150 to 200 terrorists are waiting on launching pads across the LoC to sneak into Indian Territory in Jammu region. Interacting with media-persons on the sidelines of 15th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas function at Nagrota in Jammu, the Army Commander made it clear that Army is ready to meet any challenge from across the LoC.
