Pakistan again violates ceasefire along international border in of Jammu division

Border Security Force jawans today foiled an infiltration bid along the Indo-Pak border in Samba district, killing an intruder. According to Police sources, there was movement of suspected persons along the International Border in Kulian-Suchetpur Border Out Posts in Samba district in the wee hours today. BSF troops guarding the border challenged them and opened fire following which Pakistani troops fired at Indian forward posts to give cover fire to the infiltrators. This led to heavy exchange of fire between the two sides in which an infiltrator was killed. His body is still lying near the border.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed deep concern over repeated ceasefire violations from across the border. He said that the Center needs to take up the issue with Pakistan in a strong manner as it was getting more serious now. He said that the way civilian areas are being targeted in shelling by Pak troops indicates that Pakistan’s intentions are not good.

In another incident, Pakistan again violated ceasefire along international border in Samba sector. According to AIR Samba correspondent, Pakistani Rangers started firing at about 10 on Friday night, which continued up to 4 this morning. In the unprovoked firing Pak troops targeted Indian Border Posts Suchetpur- Kulliyan, 6R, Khwoda and Regal. The firing caused panic among the border people who rushed out from their houses and took shelter in safer places.
