Pakistan 72 for 2 in 16 overs

Chasing the target of 261, Pakistan were 72 for 2 wickets in 16 overs, a short while ago. Earlier, India set a victory target of 261 runs for Pakistan in the second semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup, now under way at Mohali, Chandigarh. Electing to bat after winning the toss, the co-hosts made 260 for nine in the stipulated 50 overs. Sachin Tendulkar was the top-scorer with 85. Suresh Raina remained unbeaten on 36. The others who made notable contributions were Virender Sehwag – 38, Gautam Gambhir 27, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni 25. For Pakistan, Wahab Riaz claimed five wickets for 44 runs.
