In Pakistan, mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, Hafiz Sayeed has been released. According to BBC and Reuters, he was released in Lahore, late evening yesterday. Saeed, who carries a 10 million US dollar US bounty, had been under house arrest in the city of Lahore since January. <br/><br/>A court this week had ordered his release. The decision to put Saeed under house arrest in January was seen as a response to actions by US against nations deemed linked to terrorism. The cleric founded the Pakistani-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant group in the 1990s and, when that was banned, revived a much older organisation, Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) in 2002. The United States has said the JUD is a front for the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group.
