A delegation of Pakistani women entrepreneurs is visiting India for a dialogue with their counterparts on boosting bilateral trade. They will also discuss removing of barriers to commerce and easing the existing visa regime.
The 17-member delegation crossed over to India via the Wagah land border yesterday for a week-long visit. The team, led by Samina Fazil, founder president of the Islamabad Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will also explore opportunities in India.
India and Pakistan have made considerable progress since last year in normalising trade relations. India recently lifted a bar on investments by Pakistani nationals and Islamabad has announced that it intends to give the neighbouring country Most Favoured Nation-status by the beginning of next year.
