Pak wants resumption of dialogue with India: Zardari

Pakistan has claimed it had gone out of the way in its peace overtures towards India but failed to get a positive response. Claiming that Islamabad wants early resumption of the composite dialogue process with India, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said that his country stands for peace in the region and the world. The comments came close on the heels of US President Barack Obama asking the two nations to begin talks on less controversial issues and resolve their differences. Mr Zardari said, Pakistan is cooperating in unearthing and bringing to justice the perpetrators of militant acts.He said that his government will not let Pakistani soil to be used by the terrorists against any country. The composite dialogue between the two countries was put on hold after 10 Pakistan-based terrorists carried out attacks in Mumbai, killing 166 people in November 2008.Qureshi, Zardari respond to New Delhi's call to collectively work to dismantle terror machinesPakistan today said it is willing to engage constructively with India and collectively work to dismantle terror machines in response to New Delhi's call to stop supporting terrorism.Speaking to an Indian TV channel, soon after the joint press conference by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Obama, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said terrorists have their tentacles spread all over the world and one should not be selective towards a particular country. He said Pakistan is willing to engage with India.Mr Quershi said it is a global phenomenon and we have to deal with it collectively and no one can tackle it on its own.
