Pak violates ceasefire twice in last 24 hours

Pakistan Army again violated ceasefire this morning by resorting to unprovoked firing along Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote Sector in Poonch district in Jammu & Kashmir. Defence sources told AIR that Pakistan Army targeted forward post in Hamirpur sub sector around 8:40 A.M. Sources confirmed that Pakistan Army used small and automatic weapons while Indian troops also retaliated effectively with similar calibre weapons. No damage to any property, casualty or injury from this side has been reported till last reports came in.

Earlier, the Pakistan forces also violated the ceasefire by targeting BSF Border Outposts along International Border in Jammu district with 12 Chenab Rangers stationed across International Border, resorting to unprovoked firing on Pittal Post Border Outpost (BoP) at around 2:45 A.M. in Arnia sub sector in RS Pura Sector in Jammu. Later around 3 A.M., they again started firing on Tent Guard Border Outpost (BoP) which lasted till 5:30 this morning. Besides, the Pakistan forces resorted to heavy shelling while targeting Abdullian, Kurtala-Khurd and Tubewell-5 posts with small and large weapons. The Indian forces triggered befitting retaliation with equal caliber weapons. No loss of life, injury or damage to any property on Indian side, had been reported till last reports came in.

This was the eighth ceasefire violation in the past over a week.
