Pak violates ceasefire along LOC yet again

In Jammu and Kashmir, in yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts along the Line of Control in Tarkundi Forest area of Gambhir Sector in Poonch district of Jammu Division this morning, with a view to push some militants into this side. According to a senior Army Officer, the Indian soldiers retaliated and the exchange of fire lasted for over an hour. There were no casualties on this side of the border.

A group of four to five militants tried to enter into Indian territory and opened fire at troops patrolling the Ghambir forward area in Bhimber Gali sub-sector in the wee hours today. Pakistani troops also opened small arms fire on the Indian positions to give covering fire to the intruders. Alert Indian troops retaliated forcing the militants to flee back to Pakistan. This was the first ceasefire violation by Pak troops in the new year.
