General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command Lieutenant General B.S. Jaswal has said that though the terrorist infrastructure across the border is still intact and Pakistan is trying to push infiltrators to this side, but the Indian Army is ready to meet any such eventuality. Speaking in Northern Command Investiture Ceremony for presentation of gallantry and distinguished services awards, on the occasion of Army Day at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir today, Mr. Jaswal, said that there is no change in the demarcated lines on the Line of Actual Control (LAOC) along China but there is some area of overlap.<br/><br/>Describing this year as very crucial as Pakistan will not be happy with improving peace situation in J&K, the Lt. General added that the forces across the border might try to scuttle the ongoing peace process in the state. He said that the possibility of some more attacks like that of Lal Chowk in Srinagar in the state cannot be ruled out but Indian Army is fully prepared to meet any challenge. He added that there are also chances of Fidayeen attack in near future because Pakistan will try to sabotage the normalcy in Jammu & Kashmir.<br/><br/>AIR Udhampur correspondent, Anil Dubey reports that Mr. Jaswal said that today national security is the biggest challenge and Northern Command is playing a very important role in fighting this threat and providing a conducive environment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command presented forty six Sena Medals, and five Vishisht Seva Medals to the awardees. Twenty one GOC-in- C Appreciation Cards were also presented to the units which had excelled in the last one year.<br/>
