Pak troops violate ceasefire; fire on Indian forward posts

Violating the ceasefire again, Pakistani troops resorted to firing on Indian forward posts along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district after army detected an infiltration bid by terrorists. According to Army spokesman Col. Arora, a group of infiltrators supported by cover firing from across the Line of Control tried to sneak into the Indian territory late last night but alert Army troops thwarted the attempt of Pakistani troops to push infiltrators into this side. On seeing the suspicious movement, Army also retaliated to push back the infiltrators. The exchange of fire continued for about an hour. In this exchange of fire no loss of life or property was reported from this side.

This is the second cease fire violation by Pakistani troops in the last one month. Earlier on September 20, Pakistan violated cease fire in Samba sector and had targeted a BSF post in which one BSF sub-inspector was killed and one civilian was injured.
