Pak troops violate ceasefire along LoC

In Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani troops once again violated the ceasefire late last night by targeting forward Indians posts along the Line of Control, LoC in the Poonch sector. The move was aimed at facilitating infiltration of militants into the Indian side. Light arms to medium guns were used during the exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops. AIR correspondent reports: “According to official sources, in an attempt to push militants into Indian territory, Pakistani troops started indiscriminate firing at two Indian Posts Kranti and Kripan in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch late last night so as to provide covering fire to the militants. However, alert Indian troops guarding the Line of Control replied the fire effectively to silence the Pak guns and foiled the possible infiltration attempt. The exchange of fire between the two sides continued for more than two hours and continued well past midnight. Further details are awaited.’
