Pak troops kill 8 militants

Pakistani troops have killed eight militants and arrested eight more during search and clearance operations in the country's north-west region. The authorities said in Islamabad day that the troops repulsed two Taliban attacks on check posts in the Waziristan tribal region.Seven militants, including a commander, were killed during a search and clearance operation in Bara sub-division of Khyber tribal region.According to the Media Cell of the Frontier Corps, four soldiers were injured during the operation.Militants attacked two check posts in the Jandola an Razmak sectors of Waziristan with rockets and small arms. Troops "effectively responded" to the attacks and there were no reports of casualties.
