The US has expressed its concern over the increasing extremism in Pakistan. US State Department spokesman P J Crowley has said that concern was at the heart of US's strategic dialogue and its strategy with respect to Pakistan. When asked about the hero's treatment being given to the gunman who shot down Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, he said, the US had made it clear that political violence was a threat to the civilian Government in Pakistan and that was just the latest example.
