In Pakistan, at least four people, including a local mayor, were killed and 26 others injured in a suicide bomb attack near Peshawar on Saturday. The suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden truck into a police station in Karak area, after two of them got out of the vehicle. Two constables, a driver and mayor of a local union council were killed in the blast. The blast also damaged a nearby mosque and destroyed seven vehicles. District police Chief Sajid Mohmand said 14 policemen were among 26 people injured in the attack.The injured were taken to a nearby hospital. The conditions of some of them are critical. Security personnel have cordoned off the area after the blast and launched a search for the suicide bomber's two accomplices. Authorities also imposed curfew in Karak.No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but Taliban militants have targeted police, security forces and government offices in northwest Pakistan over the past three years.
