Pakistan is sending a special team from its federal investigation agency to London to look into allegations of a betting scam involving the Pakistan cricket team. A British newspaper alleged yesterday that two of their players were paid to deliberately break the game rules. Report said, the Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik insists his country would not back down from conducting an independent investigation and sent a delegation from the country's highest law enforcement organisation to assist the U. K. Police. At the same time the cricket agent at the centre of the allegations, Mazhar Majeed, has been released without charge on police bail. He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud bookmakers. Four members of the Pakistan team including the Captain Salman Butt have been questioned by police investigating claims that no balls were thrown at pre-arranged times in the four tests at Lords.
