Under pressure from India and the United States, Pakistan today sought forensic evidence against the terrorists responsible for Mumbai attacks. The Indian High Commission in Pakistan Mr. Sharat Sabharwal was handed over a fresh set of questions by Pakistan authorities in response to the latest dossier provided by New Delhi to prosecute the terrorists. Briefing reporters in Islamabad this evening, the Pakistan Interior Minister Mr. Rahman Malik said that considerable progress has been made in the probe in Mumbai attacks .He said this is despite the sketchy information provided by India. Mr. Malik said seven persons arrested for Mumbai attacks are being tried and information has also been received about 35 hideouts of terrorists are being handed over the court. Mr. Malik said that the boats used by the attackers in Mumbai are in Pakistani custody. Earlier, the Interior Minister briefed the Indian High Commission on the progress in the probe into Mumbai attacks and conveyed Islamabad's commitment to bring the perpetrators of carnage to book. The Pakistan Interior Minister held discussions with the Prime Minister Mr. Yousuf Raza Gilani before briefing the Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad Our correspondents adds that Pakistan has been maintaining that the evidence provided by India so far is inadequate for arresting or prosecuting the master mind of Mumbai terror attacks Hafiz Saeed.
