Pak security forces killed 48 more militants in Taliban dominated South Waziristan

Pakistani security forces killed 48 more militants during the last 24 hours, in the continuing operation in the Taliban strongholds in South Waziristan. In a statement, the army today said four soldiers of the security forces were injured during the ground assault in the tribal agency bordering Afghanistan. The statement said in the operation coded as Rah-e-Nijat, or path of salvation, the security forces have commenced an important phase of operation. It said the security forces also recovered some weapons and ammunition during the operation. Pakistani security forces launched the ground assault on October 17 in South Waziristan with about 30,000 soldiers in place to take on an estimated 10,000 hard-Taliban militants in the lawless area. Hitting back at the Pakistan Army, Taliban militants today set off a roadside bomb killing seven soldiers.
