Pakistan Supreme Court has blocked the order of President Asif Ali Zardari to appoint two judges; one each to the Supreme Court and the other to the Lahore High Court. The Supreme Court, struck down the order, saying it appeared to violate the constitution as the President had not consulted the court beforehand. Mr Zardari's spokesman Farhatullah Babar said the Chief Justice had been consulted, as required by the Constitution. The Supreme Court will hold a hearing on the mater on Thursday.
