Pak says talks will help two countries to understand each other's viewpoint

Pakistan today said that talks with India on nuclear and conventional Confidence Building Measures, CBMs, will help forge greater understanding between the two sides.

There are reports that Islamabad has proposed to New Delhi that artillery and mortars should be deployed 30 kms away from the LoC. Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said that the talks will help the two countries to understand each other's viewpoint.

Mr. Basit told the media as senior Indian and Pakistani officials held the second phase of two-day talks on nuclear and conventional CBMs.
