Pak PM Gilani vows to bring to justice culprits of Mumbai attacks

Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has vowed to bring to justice those responsible for the Mumbai attacks. Addressing a dinner hosted for the Pakistani media, Mr Gilani said, he is against terrorism and always of the opinion that the culprit should be brought to justice. The statement comes after his meeting with US President Barack Obama, who conveyed to Gilani India's concerns on the issue. Briefing reporters on the Obama-Gilani meeting, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the US President had brought up some of the issues he discussed with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Obama told Gilani that he too believed any action against the Mumbai suspects would be a positive step. During his meeting with Obama, Dr Singh also raised theissue of direct access to Mumbai attacks plotter andPakistani-American LeT operative David Headley. Dr Singh also conveyed to the US President that the US military aid to Islamabad would ultimately be used against India and spoke of Pakistan-backed groups trying to oust New Delhi from Afghanistan. Mr Obama said both India and Pakistan are sovereign states and he wanted to see them improve their relations.
